Edward SayreDistinguished System EngineerSamtec

Dr. Edward P. Sayre, P.E. is a Samtec Corporation Distinguished System Engineer: Dr. Edward P. responsibilities include development of Communications Standards for IEEE 802.3, OIF and VITA, peer-to-peer partnership development and advanced serial digital systems interconnect and package design. Previously, he was President and Chief Executive Officer of North East Systems Associates, Inc. (NESA). NESA was founded in 1973 and during over four decades, Dr. Sayre and the NESA staff helped many companies bring their high-performance products to market. Dr. Sayre has more than 50 years’ experience in the design of high-performance engineering systems and has also provided RF & EMF shielding, grounding and EMI/EMC mitigation to many clients. Dr. Sayre has over 50 technical papers and presentations. He was awarded, together with colleagues, the best paper at DesignCon1998 for “Cable Channel Passive Equalization Techniques”. Dr. Sayre also served as Chairman of DesignCon East back in the day and has been a participant in DesignCon panels and presentation on numerous occasions. Dr. Sayre was awarded his Bachelors’ degree in Electrical Engineering from Manhattan College in 1961, a Masters’ degree in Electrical Engineering from New York University in 1962 and a Ph. D., in Electrical Engineering from Syracuse University in 1969. Dr. Sayre is a registered Professional Engineer in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, U.S.A. His Specialties Include: High speed multi-Gigabit component & backplane design, marketing and technology evaluation, HSPICE simulation, EM simulation and analyses. He was an early developer of Method of Moments (MoM) time and frequency domain codes.
