Count on chips and software to disrupt the automotive industry as it shifts from the traditional mechanical, drivetrain methodology to the era of digital transformation where software defines how cars are architected and built.

Implementing a digital transformation framework for the connected, functionally safe and driver-assisted autonomous vehicle is judged to offer better designs that consider a range of technologies –– electrification, sensors, cloud computing, big data, 5G connectivity and AI. Accordingly, a verification and validation environment like this will evaluate, develop and test automotive compute hardware solutions and employ a shift-left approach to software development.

Moderator Jean-Marie Brunet of Siemens EDA will welcome panelists from a cross-section of automotive industry suppliers, all of whom are assessing the way to deploy an autonomous verification and validation environment to meet these new requirements. The discussion will address how development and a left-shift methodology can be accelerated. They will also explore why simulation of thousands of driving scenarios and design parameters can ensure safety and reliability in autonomous driving. Audience participation will be encouraged.
